Case Study For Team Building
The Brief:
A departmental conference with 180 attendees for a pharmaceutical company with a high-end business message but to a group of people that did not know each other very well. The emphasis was on fun and getting to know each other with an Awards Evening to follow.
The requirement was for an energetic and creative conference ice-breaker.
 The Options:
- Structured Business Game - River Runner
- Sequence of fast moving team challenges around the hotel
- Video Film Making
The Decision:
Video Film Making won clearly since it offered the following:
- Structured 3 hours of fun, teambuilding activity
- Creativity combined with team work and individual skills
- Business messages could be incorporated throughout
- Videos could be used as part of the evening Awards Ceremony
 The Activity:
The group was spilt down into 15 teams. Each team had fun money so that they could buy props from the prop shop, studio time for filming and specialist technicians advice during the afternoon. Each group was required to shoot a 3 minute advert based on a specific business issue BUT had to do it in the style of one of the following:
- James Bond
- Ab Fab
- Indiana Jones
- Only Fools and Horses
- Coronation Street
The Result:
The whole event, having been superbly planned, worked to the minute with all teams working within the tight time frames and slots allocated to them. An interesting array of props added colour to some fascinating scripts and whilst we cannot say they were all Oscar nominations they provided an excellent evening of entertainment for the whole group!
