Kaleidoscope Managing Director, Mike Mallett, has been involved with Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK charity for the last 6 years as a volunteer. The highlight of his fund raising efforts to date was running the London Marathon in 2002 and raising money for the charity. Mike recollects, " I didn't realise just how much training was involved and how much commitment was required but it was well worth it and when they put that Flora medal around my neck after 26 miles I felt I had won an Olympic gold! I was delighted as well to be able to raise £1250 for Make-A-Wish".
As well as raising money Mike is involved in Wishgranting and Wish Visits, which gets him very much involved with the children themselves and being part of a team that is truly able to Make-A-Wish come true.
Since 1986 thanks to Make-A-Wish over 4,200 very special children have realised their greatest dream and experienced the hope, strength and joy each wish provides.
Make-A-Wish - Granting magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses
A wish granted is true magic for the child and provides happy memories for all the family and respite from their normal routines of hospitals, doctors and treatment.
To continue with our work and succeed in our aims, we rely overwhelmingly on the kindness of people like you. With your generosity we can make a real difference to a child's life.
Kaleidoscope is delighted to be associated with this most worthwhile Charity and urges you to support it in any way you can.
