Festive Game Show

After a supremely successful Christmas Cerebration event in 2007, it was clear that this group enjoyed doing lots of short activities rather than one long one. But how to keep that same momentum and introduce a new idea to them?

The group was 370 strong in 37 teams and we had 2 hours in the afternoon to entertain them ahead of their conference dinner. The venue was Celtic Manor at Newport, which proved to be perfect, well organised and with lots of space for us all.

After due consideration and with some helpful guidelines from our client we decided upon a Game Show with a Christmas theme.

The end result provided 6 challenges each lasting 20 minutes:

Festive hat Balloon modelling
Life sized Christmas tree fairy costumes - wings and halos included!
Christmas tree decoration but with a difference! One person had to dress up in the tree costume and be decorated!!
Reindeer! - make a freestanding reindeer from newspaper, toilet rolls and jingle bells
Cake Decorating - of course! Complete with Xmas scene
Line Dancing finale- always a great way to finish

Set up took 2 hours (mainly because we had 1000 balloons to blow up!) but also as we boxed all games up to put quickly onto the tables to avoid losing any time for the teams between games.

Complete with PA system, plenty of staff to keep it moving and sharp game show compering it proved a fantastic hit!
